Elise Shrock is a Democratic communications strategist and specializes in candidate communications development, strategic campaign communications, and press relations. She is the Communications Director for the Episcopal Diocese of Indianapolis and Christ Church Cathedral, a progressive faith community in the heart of Indianapolis, IN. Each year, you'll see her proudly kicking off the summer alongside the Cathedral Women of Christ Church Cathedral as they host the city's much-beloved Indy Strawberry Festival.

Shrock also serves as a founding board member of Hoosier Women Forward, Indiana's premiere leadership program for democratic women. Through study, field experience, and networking, the participants gain valuable political leadership training that prepares them to become more informed, active, and mindful public servants. While the program aims to equip women to lead in all areas of leadership, it boasts a 78% success rate for those who run for elected office.

She currently works as a trainer with the National Democratic Training Committee, providing Democratic candidates, campaign staffers, and local leaders with the tools, expert training, and resources needed to win. Through this work, she travels the country to train winning candidates and partner organizations, including the Illinois Democratic Chairs Association, Wisconsin Democratic Party, and Indiana Democratic Party.

Shrock is a regular Democratic commentator, primarily with Indianapolis' NPR/PBS affiliate, WFYI. She is featured as the Democratic panelist on the first Friday of each month on Indiana Public Broadcasting's Indiana Week in Review. Her columns have been featured in various outlets, such as the Indiana Capital Chronicle and the Indianapolis Business Journal.

Since 2008, she has served in various roles around the Indiana General Assembly, both on the inside as Communications Director, Deputy Chief of Staff, and Hispanic Affairs Director and in the lobby as Vice President of Tamm Capital Group, a boutique public affairs firm.

Shrock recently served as the President of the IN Democratic Latino Caucus, engaging Latino voters to ensure that the state's growing Latino population is reflected in all levels of government.

Shrock is an avid traveler who believes that if you are lucky enough, you should travel as far out as you can, but all you need is probably right where you are. She is a dog mom to her one-eyed rescue pup, Al, and spends much of her free time sharing meals with her friends and family.
